Be Part of Our Legislative Process – Complete a Legislative Priorities Questionnaire and Attend the Workshop
At no time has it been more important for nonprofits to voice their concerns in Tallahassee than now. New legislators are joining our delegation and need to be educated and informed about the needs of our clients in Palm Beach County.
For the seventh year, the Human Services Coalition, now in partnership with the Nonprofit Chamber of Palm Beach County, has been part of a legislative initiative that gets our priorities before all the members of our Palm Beach County Legislative Delegation.
The Human Services Coalition and Nonprofit Chamber of Palm Beach County offer every nonprofit health and human services organization and stakeholders the opportunity to be part of the legislative process. For the seventh year, we invite you to submit priorities and take part in our legislative workshop where you decide the top two priorities in the areas of health, children and youth, elder issues, substance abuse/mental health, disabilities, housing, hunger and homelessness.
No matter how large or small your nonprofit is, you have an equal opportunity to get your needs heard. COMPLETE THE QUESTIONNAIRE and then REGISTER and join us on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20 for a legislative workshop to help set priorities. From there, we will hold a Legislative Summit, attended by our legislative delegation to hear our top priorities are receive the Green Book containing all of them. The Summit will be held November 18 from 9:30 – 11 a.m.
Nonprofits are a major segment of the economy – the third largest employer in the United States. We bring $40 billion into our respective states. And, yet, for many years, we had no real impact on the legislative process. The Legislative Advocacy Initiative here in Palm Beach County is changing that – it gives YOU a louder voice in advocating for your organization and for your clients and legislators are listening.
PLEASE GET INVOLVED.
